About the Site

Silvally Plushie started life in November 2022, when Twitter truly started circling the drain. People were talking about moving to other websites, and lamented the centralization of the internet. Some of my friends had already been working on websites… and that inspired me. Honestly, it'd been a lifelong dream of mine to make my own website, but when I got into social media as a preteen, it seemed like that dream was pointless, old-school. But… it's not! There's always a place for websites, especially with the modern prevalence of social media. So I took out a tutorial I remembered from a decade ago, and the knowledge I gained from it then, and started to teach myself how to code again.

I'm not old enough to have been a part of the 2000s internet, but I am old enough to have spent a chunk of my childhood browsing the websites made in that era. My own site is heavily inspired by The Cave of the Dragonflies, and that alongside TR's Rockin' were my favorite sites to browse. (I also have a deep fondness for the type of old-school Pokémon sites that tried to convince people Pokégods were real, made with love by some teenager. I used to be interested in those, believing that just maybe the myths could be real, but now I think it's a fascinating cultural thing that I only got to see the ends of.)

Why "Silvally Plushie"?

This was supposed to be part of this page, and then I wrote a thousand words about it! The short answer is that 1) it'd be funny, 2) I've been waiting since 2016 for an official Silvally plushie, with no luck. It's been a whole thing. The long answer is here!
